In 2009 we are holding our Clan Gathering in Edinburgh the Capital City of Scotland.

Our event will be held at the same time as the “International Gathering of the Clans” which is expected to attract thousands of people from around the world.

 Our gathering will consist of our own events as well as participating in the main  event organised by the committee of the “International Gathering of the Clans” organisation. If you wish to view their web site go to -:  www.thegathering2009.com

You will see from their programme that the main event is the Highland Games in Holyrood Park and the Clan March up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle where a spectacular Clan Pageant will unfold.

If you are planning to join us in 2009  please be aware of the following important points. Although we are keeping our clan gathering costs to a minimum [see below] there is a considerable charge for participating in the Clan March and Pageant.  If you go to the web site above [ click on the gathering 2009 passport ] you will see the package on offer  costs  £95.00 or £ 110.00. You can purchase your passport online from when they are available in March 2008 and can  pre-order soon via their web site. This event will be a fantastic celebration of our great historic culture.

‘A once in a lifetime experience.’

We would like to see as many MacAulays as possible marching and attending the pageant. However, for those of you who do not wish to attend, arrangements will be made for you to watch the clans marching up the Royal Mile and thereafter to attend an alternative function. More information about this nearer the time.

 Accommodation is already booked.  We have negotiated a three night package deal with the University of Edinburgh for en-suite double rooms at a cost of  only £35.00 per person per night on a B&B basis.  Single en-suite rooms will vary.  To view the Edinburgh facility go to -:  www.edinburghfirst.com

Accommodation payments must be settled not later than 16th May 2009 Cheques payable to Clan MacAulay.

 Finally, we require payments to cover our Travel to the Garden Party, Formal Dinner, Grand Ceilidh and other incidentals. This will be around  £70.00 per person. Unfortunately, we have to settle with the University in advance. Payments to be settled by 16^th May 2009.

 It is our intention to make this our best and most enjoyable clan gathering ever. For those of you who attend this cultural celebration it will be a truly memorable occasion and one ‘not to be missed.’
