The Honourable Clan MacAulay Association

Failte Do'n Chinneadh:  Welcome to the Clan.

Aulay MacAulay, the twelfth and last Chief, died in 1767, having seen the patrimony of his house sold, and his castle roofless.  Ardencaple Castle passed to the Duke of Argyll, and the Clan, once influential in forming Scottish history, lost its cohesive identity.

This situation prevailed until the 5th day of November, 1997, when Iain MacAulay received his Commission as Commander of the Honourable Clan MacAulay.  At a stroke the Clan is no longer leaderless.

The Honourable Clan MacAulay Association, led by the Commander, invites you to join them in reuniting the Clan in Kinship, Friendship, and Tradition.

Left landless and penniless, and scattered to the four winds with our only inheritance the name MacAulay, all branches are welcome: Ardencaple, Lewis, and Lochbroom, each bringing their personal history to add to the fascinating whole.

We set out to reunite the family, irrespective of spelling, sex, or colour, in the fellowship of God, believing in the non-sectarian kinship of the Clan which transcends all boundaries and preserves the spirit, kinship, clanship, and tradition of the said Clan.
